MCP Servers feel like one of the oldest standards we have for defining how we can integrate with AI tools. There are plenty of criticisms, but the death of the MCP Server has been exaggerated a bit. In this talk we will go over the basics of what an MCP server is, some alternatives such as skills, as well as what lesser known MCP Apps are and how they might revive enthusiasm in the MCP server ecosystem.
