Launching a Product On a Shoestring Budget

Do you have a business idea and want to bring it to market? Want to bootstrap it/work on it on the side? How do you even know that your effort will be worth it in the end? The Lean Startup methodology might be what you're looking for. The Lean Startup method adapts the principles of Lean Manufacturing and applies them to starting a business. The primary principle of Lean is avoiding waste. Waste in this case is effort spent in time and/or money, building something without validation that it will be successful. Think of the DotComs in the late 90s that spent millions of dollars following a plan only to fail spectacularly because that plan was riddled with assumptions that proved to be false. In this session we will discuss my journey applying the Lean Startup method to my first product launch. Discoveries I made as I applied the principles, and how I took the seed of an idea and refined it with minimal cost and minimal effort.
